Blog Task 10

1 comment:

  1. Hi everyone,

Let me begin by saying that your blog has one of the nicest, clean layout that made everything so much more cooler and easier to read. It is not too wordy with lots of text and you have selected the appropriate as well as mostly relevant images and videos to complement your posts. So good job with this aspect. Another good point is consistent good quality of your writing which is very good. This goes to show that there was effort on the part of the editors to actually ensure there is good writing with minimal grammatical and spelling errors. The quality of language overall is fluent and good. So, again, good job in this area.

Other comments to highlight to you:

    - For the advertisement analysis, Amy and Isabelle both of you kind of missed the mark with what was required. With Amy, the no doubt the ad choice was certainly unconventional as there were no words and no description as to what the photo is actually about, to confirm whether it is an ad or not. There was no indication about this. I have to go by what you have wrote to believe that what you have selected is an ad. So, I will not accept that particular image as an advert in the traditional sense. Also, your response to No.2 is inccorect, as there is no such thing as BEAUTY being a persuasive technique. It is never a persuasive technique and it would be foolish to think that it is. For Isabelle, my only issue is with regards to your answer to No.2, which did not go according to the guide that was given to you. The answers given did not match any of the persuasive techniques that I had given to you during the advertising tutorial class.

    - In PR, tactics are basically your activities, what you intend to do to achieve or meet your objectives. Bear this in mind. Overall, I love the concept and the activities lined up. It seems a bit much but yeah, I think it is a workable campaign if it ever happens. However, was wondering what was the images for though as it seemed to be from her private event and seemed out of place.

    - Brilliant work on the short story after the observation class! It is a nice, pensieve story that reflects what one feels when in a library such as the one in Taylor's. Applause to the writers and the people who came up with the concept!

    - There has to be a consistency to the theme of your radio programme. Even though it is hard for me to pinpoint what exactly is the theme, but I think it is a good job from everyone! Everyone sounded natural and there's a seamless transition between music and the speaking segments. Alex Low especially has a very good natural voice for reading the news.

Ok, that's about it for my comments. Here's how you are scored:

Good writing (grammar, spelling, punctuation) - 8/10

Focus & Clarity of original ideas (logical sequence, ideas related to concepts/ theories, new ideas
by own reading exploration) - 7.5/10

Features used (links, video, audio) where appropriate + good visual concept (for video blog) - 8.5/10

    Postings are consistently on-time - 8/10

    Team contribution - 8/10

    Great job, everyone!
